PROGRAM/ CLASSES TAUGHT: LEVEL IV PRETEAM, PRESCHOOL, ADULT

GYMNASTICS BACKGROUND: John is a graduate from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Film. John is an All-American gymnast from Milton High School, Milton Massachusetts. In his senior year he won the state All-Around title, Horizontal Bar and Parallel Bars, where he set state and regional records.

John placed in the top twenty and qualified for the United States Olympic Training Center – Junior National Team.

John won a scholarship to attend the University of Wisconsin - Madison and competed two years in the Big Ten Conference for the Badgers. He transferred to Syracuse University and was the recipient of the Phi Epsilon Kappa Award for most outstanding student athlete and was named team captain in his Junior and Senior year. John placed in the top three in all events in duel competition for the Orangemen and set a school record on Pommel Horse vs. Temple University. At the Big East Gymnastics Championships, he won a silver medal on the Horizontal Bar.

In 1992 John was selected as the feature gymnast at the Olympic Games Closing Ceremonies in Barcelona, Spain.

John’s father Lloyd was an All-American football player at Brown University and was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the National Football League. Recently John’s younger brother Richard was a top draft pick out of the University of Michigan in the 2003 Major League Baseball draft and was selected by the Chicago Cubs.>

John has been involved in the sport of gymnastics for over twenty-five years. He has trained beginning level boys and girls teams through elite level. He was the head boys coach at Lakeshore Academy in Chicago and had great success with several students qualifying to USGF Nationals. John is a USA Gymnastics professional member and safety board certified.

John is pleased to be part of the L.A. School of Gymnastic coaching staff.
