We need your Support!

The Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG) is a 501(C) 3 non-profit organization that offers comprehensive gymnastics programs for children and youth of all ages and ability levels. Our organization provides children with a structured, safe and professional environment, with individual attention and training for each child.  LASG is a USA National & Olympic Team Training Center and our staff and carefully screened coaches have over 120 years of combined experience.  Since 1975, LASG has provided our community with the best all-around gymnastic programs in the community’s largest training centers.  LASG is committed to excellence!  Our goal is to move minority, low-income, minority, and children with disabilities “off the sidelines and into the action!”

We are committed to making an impact with modest means.  Still we can’t do it without the support from giving members of our community.  Our giving campaign provides donor with an approach of substantially enhancing the positive and successful impact on the lives of students for which the LA School of Gymnastics has been known for since 1975.

Athletes: Contributions up to $25-$1500 (Any donation of any size would be very helpful)

Donors at the athlete level contribute items essential to ensuring success at the LA School of Gymnastics.  Athlete level benefactors can envision their contributions as serving to equip any of the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics need in the area(s) of scholarship contribution, equipment replacement and program enhancement.

”Gymnastics is the foundation for all sports and the ultimate human movement experience. It promotes Self-esteem, self-discipline, and forms the healthy foundation for an active lifestyle.”

Los Angeles urban youth and children have a reported high involvement in delinquency.  According to the Los Angeles Police Department crime statistics, over 27,000 juvenile arrests were recorded in 2004 for crimes ranging from homicide, robbery, aggravated assault, larceny and crimes involving narcotic drugs.   We believe that gymnastics training and health awareness will keep the children and youth in our community involved in meaningful activities and away from crime.

Gymnastics is one of the best all-around training experiences for growth and development of children and youth.  Physical conditioning, coordination and strength are complemented by increased self-confidence, self-pride, concentration, and cooperative learning skills.   Unfortunately, the many positive aspects of gymnastics are not available to all children, because of the high cost of equipment and lack of specialized trainers.

“Physical activity increases a child’s ability to cope with stress and anxiety. Self-esteem and building friendships follow closely as another benefit of participation. Socialization is important to mental health and well-being and can help a child be more self-sufficient and confident.” (Joanne Bauman, Benefits and Barriers to Fitness for Children with Disabilities, NCPAD Newsletter, 2004).
