Off Ice Skating
For more than 40 years, the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG), a non-profit organization has been committed to providing the community with high quality programs in rhythmic and artistic gymnastics, from toddlers to teenagers, from the toddler development programs to Olympic caliber competitors. In strong demand to the needs of the community, the LASG has also opened programs in other sports arenas such as cheerleading, aerobics, trampoline, and ballet in addition to its highly acclaimed gymnastics curriculum.
At the request of many parents and children, the prestigious Los Angeles School of Gymnastics is offering a new and exciting program for kids that are involved with ice-skating. Ice-Skating requires more than ever techniques that are utilized in gymnastics along with the benefits of perfecting elements off the ice rink. We are creating a specific program to work on physical conditioning, and to develop strength and flexibility, elements that are vital for enhancing ice-skating on the recreational level, and more specifically in the competitive arena.
Many of our coaches have extensive backgrounds in competitive ice-skating and have worked with ice skaters for many years by providing Off-Ice skating preparation. Please be aware that this program is a supplemental curriculum designed for ice skaters and will be held at the Los Angeles School of Gymnastics based in Culver City, California. This training does not involve a work on an ice rink. A long standing parallel sport, rhythmic gymnastics and figure skating have essentially been known to be the sister sport “on ice” however the benefits don’t always have to land on a cold hard floor. Join us for what has now become the revolution of ice skating, Off Ice Skating! Our coaches will work together in conjunction with certified ice skating coaches in order to design specific work programs for children in areas that need improvement or to implement and develop new skills.
